Road Expo Scotland

EXHIBITION UPDATE

Both central and devolved governments throughout the UK have utilised the large, vacant spaces in our major exhibition venues to create multiple new temporary hospitals. These were built at the beginning of the pandemic should our NHS become overwhelmed. Thankfully, most of these facilities were not really used; including the ‘NHS Louisa Jordan Hospital’ at the SEC.

Following the recent announcement from Scotland’s First Minister that the ‘NHS Louisa Jordan Hospital’ at the SEC will be retained as a contingency through the winter, the SEC will not be available to host Road Expo this year.

In anticipation of this official announcement and after many discussions with the venue, we have explored all options, including changing the dates of the event, looking at different venues, and, even changing the format to a virtual event. Unfortunately, we believe alternative options would take more from the event than offer it. Sadly, therefore, we have decided the right course of action would be to cancel the Road Expo event this year and instead return to the SEC on 1 & 2 December 2021.

ROAD EXPO WILL RETURN ON 1 & 2 DECEMBER 2021

The big move to the purpose built SEC in Glasgow for the last 2019 event really made a huge impact to the sector. We will again be returning this year, taking advantage of the modern, large hall to develop many new show features including our whole new “Innovation Trail” and “Innovation Trail live”, plus many more.

Across two days the exhibition provides you with the opportunity to do business with those operating specifically and dedicated to the road and transport sector in Scotland. With TWO separate and focused seminar spaces, one for Roads and Transportation, covering the entire spectrum of road network and traffic management, the other for Bridges Scotland, covering bridge design, maintenance and construction, we will have much to see, understand and learn together.

NEW for 2021, will be a dedicated Scottish Local Authority meet the buyer area. We will be hosting no fewer than 20 Scotland local authorities waiting to engage with suppliers, and providers throughout the supply chain.
